The JL Audio MediaMaster 55 (MM55) is a compact single-chassis marine source unit with an IP67 rating and every button sealed behind a watertight membrane. A 2.8-inch (71 mm) high-contrast color LCD and backlit controls make it easy to use at any hour, with separate day and night brightness settings for the screen, buttons and optional wired remotes.

A four-channel amplifier supplies 25 watts RMS x 4 (100 watts) to zones 1 and 2, and nine channels of 4 V RMS preamp outputs serve three audio zones, each with its own subwoofer output. Every zone gets its own volume, subwoofer level, high-pass and low-pass crossovers, volume limit, tone controls and name. Sources include a digital AM/FM tuner with RDS, DAB+ where available in Europe, Bluetooth with aptX, USB 2.0 with 1 A charging, and AUX. Certified NMEA 2000 connectivity pairs it with Garmin, Lowrance, Raymarine or Simrad displays.
