The Luxe version of the JL Audio M6 10-inch marine subwoofer is styled for a low-profile installation. A slim mounting bezel and fine mesh white grille keep protrusion into cabin space to a minimum, and the white trim ring gives it a clean appearance that blends with upscale boat interiors. It is sold individually.

Adding a subwoofer takes the job of reproducing low frequencies off smaller main speakers, so the whole system can play louder and cleaner. This infinite-baffle driver is designed to work without a dedicated enclosure and needs a large air volume behind it, at least 2 cubic feet (56.6 liters). JL Audio recommends 75 to 250 watts of amplifier power. Its long-excursion, DMA-optimized construction and tough suspension help it deliver smooth bass, and it is built to cope with a real saltwater environment. For a small sealed enclosure, JL Audio points buyers to the M6-10W instead. M6 speakers are produced at the JL Audio factory in Miramar, Florida, using global components and materials.
